In Phonics 2, readers will accomplish a variety of tasks. They will:
• continue practice recognizing and distinguishing phonemes,
• decode multi-syllable words,
• build a sight vocabulary by learning to recognize high-frequency words,
• begin to learn spelling rules and patterns, such as silent letters, irregular spellings, and common prefixes and suffixes,
• apply phonics knowledge to writing.
